Do you have the skills and attributes to bring to some exciting – and important – projects within
our Conservation team, that will really help them deliver for nature? We’d love to hear from you!
We are seeking to recruit a Conservation Officer to work with our delivery and strategic partners on some truly exciting projects from rewilding in the Wolds, to reconnecting our rivers to the neighbouring land, to securing our coastal habitats. The individual needs to have a ‘can do’ positive attitude, working with people to secure opportunities for large-scale nature recovery across our land and seascapes.
Applicants should have a sound knowledge and understanding of environmental legislation in
England, including the Environment Act, with a handle on the Government’s Environmental
Improvement Plan, and be aware of the current consultation on Planning and Infrastructure Bill.
Knowledge of the current processes for planning and development management is required. It will
be critical to understand the role of nature in addressing societal issues, including achieving
Net Zero. Some field skills and some experience of working with land managers, planning
authorities, industry and various organisations within the environmental sector would be
useful.
Partnership working, advocacy and project management will be required, as well as excellent
communication skills, a high level of commitment to nature’s recovery and a desire to achieve
change. A relevant environmental qualification or equivalent working experience and a full
current UK driving licence are also required.
Closing date: noon on Wednesday 13 August 2025
