CALL FOR APPLICATIONS N° CJ AP 52/25
Judge Ulf Öberg at the General Court of the European Union, Luxembourg, seeks a suitable candidate
to fill a position of legal assistant, which will be vacant from October 16th, 2025.
The position involves providing Judge Öberg with advice on both substantive and procedural points of
law arising in cases before the General Court as well as preparing, under the supervision of his legal
secretaries (référendaires), draft judgments, draft preliminary reports, hearing reports and written
notes in view of deliberations.
Furthermore, the position entails the performance of various administrative and secretarial tasks in
close collaboration with Judge Öberg’s other legal assistant.
Applicants should hold a law degree. This position is a good opportunity to start a career as a lawyer in
European law.
The working language of the Chambers of Judge Öberg is English. As the deliberations of the General
Court are currently conducted in French and English, written work will have to be carried out mainly in
these languages. Applicants should therefore be completely professionally competent in both English
and French. Knowledge of Swedish is considered an asset.
The position is to be filled either by the engagement of a temporary agent, or by the secondment of an
official in the interests of the service.
