Data, Strategy and Performance Officer x2

Peak District National Park Authority

The Role

We are looking for two people to join us, to help collect, analyse and
present the information we need to monitor, evaluate and develop strategies to improve both our
organisation and the Peak District National Park. In this role you will be part of an
experienced team responsible for setting the evidence based strategic framework for the
National Park through the National Park Management Plan, The Authority through our Authority
Plan and for protected Landscapes through new project-based work.

There are two posts available. A career graded developmental role open to graduate applicants
‘just starting out’ and a role for a more experienced person. Working with us will give you a
wide range of opportunities to support whole organisation and landscape management in the UK,
translating policy into action and working on climate change adaptation in a protected
landscape context. You will also participate in a range of policy and strategy development,
research and strategic work with partners to help look after the Peak District National Park on
a day to day basis. These are full-time temporary roles for 12 months, based in Bakewell in the
Peak District with blended working options. There roles may be extended reliant on the team
successfully securing additional external funding.

About You

The posts are offered at two levels. For level 1 you will need to be a numerate graduate
(geography, sustainability, environmental studies/science/management etc.) with some experience
of research, analysis, written reporting and presentation of data. For level 2, in addition to
level 1, you will be able to demonstrate a higher level of experience and knowledge across
research and data analysis as well as in developing and delivering policy with partners in a
protected landscape context.

About Us

The Peak District National Park was the first of Britain’s 15 national parks and is still
enjoyed by millions, looking for both adventure and a breathing space to escape. It is also the
most accessible due its proximity to four major cities of the UK and its 38,000 residents. We
recognise the importance of our national park and our job is to speak up and care for the Peak
District National Park for all to enjoy forever.

Benefits

We offer a range of staff benefits including hybrid working, flexi-time, 26-31 days holiday (as
well as Bank Holidays) and the option to purchase more, a high-quality defined benefit pension
scheme (2 years to qualifying period), volunteering leave and free parking at most of our
offices. Please check out our Total Reward Brochure to see what else we offer.
