Estuary Project Officer

Tees Rivers Trust

Join Us in Restoring the Tees Estuary

Tees Rivers Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Project Officer to join our friendly and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a meaningful role in restoring native species and habitats across the Tees Estuary – helping to bring nature back to one of our region’s most important waterways. If you’re passionate about the environment, enjoy practical project work, and love seeing the real‑world impact of what you do, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Estuary Project Officer, you’ll support a varied and rewarding programme of work, including:

  • Restoring estuarine habitats through trialling the reintroduction of native oysters, mussels, seagrass and seaweed farming.
  • Supporting species recovery, contributing to the return of several key estuarine species to the Tees.
  • Working closely with our estuary team on the development, expansion and day‑to‑day running of our estuary nursery facility in Hartlepool.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who:

  • Is an enthusiastic team player
  • Has experience supporting or delivering environmental, conservation, or habitat‑focused projects
  • Brings a proactive, can‑do approach and enjoys practical, hands‑on work
  • Can work confidently on a variety of tasks and adapt to the changing needs of the project

If you’re passionate about estuary restoration and keen to grow your experience in a positive, collaborative environment, this role could be a great fit.
