
North Pennines National Landscape
The North Pennines National Landscape is recruiting a Farming and Nature Officer to provide
advice, guidance and support to farmers and other land managers to undertake nature friendly
farming.
The focus of this temporary post (currently funded to end of December 2026) will primarily be
in support of our Farming in Protected Landscapes Programme (funded by DEFRA), with some
engagement with our new Landscape Connections Programme (funded by National Lottery Heritage
Fund).
You will provide a first point of contact between the National Landscape and potential
applicants to the FiPL programme, providing advice and support leading to applications which
support nature, climate and people friendly farming. The officer will also support the wider
FiPL team and the assessment panel through the processes of assessment, monitoring and review.
There may also be opportunities to help with advice and guidance towards agri-environment
schemes, especially any specialist input, as part of our new Landscape Connections Programme,
and through our wider work.
You will need a HND or equivalent level qualification in an environment, ecology or land
management related subject OR experience in relevant fields of study and work.
Salary: Grade 10 £37,035 to £40,476 p.a. (Pay Award Pending)
Working pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week
