Lynx to Scotland Engagement Officer (2 posts) – Help assess the feasibility of reintroducing
lynx to Scotland

Are you passionate about nature restoration and have experience working with stakeholders on
sensitive issues?

Lynx to Scotland is a partnership project assessing the ecological, social, and practical
feasibility of reintroducing the Eurasian lynx to the Scottish Highlands. The next phase of our
work focuses on consultation with local communities that may be affected by a potential
reintroduction, and understanding and assessing their perspectives on the proposal.

We’re looking for two Engagement Officers to help design, deliver, and evaluate key elements of
this work. You’ll need to be an excellent communicator, confident in engaging sensitively with
a wide range of audiences, and have strong analytical and report-writing skills.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Advertising and planning the logistics of the consultation process.
  • Providing information about lynx reintroduction to communities and organisations in person
    and via printed materials / online.
  • Helping to design and being responsible for carrying out elements of the consultation
    including questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and group discussions.
  • Analysing the results of consultation activities and producing a technical report of the
    process and its outcomes.

Salary: £25,983 – £29,711 per annum

Hours: 35hrs/pw, including evening and weekend working.

Contract: Full-time fixed term until 7 August 2026

Location: Findhorn / Home-based, with travel across the Scottish Highlands and
Moray.
