icddr,b invites applications for the position of Manager, Learning and Development with Human Resources under the Central Management Services. The appointment will be made on a Fixed-Term basis for 2 years, renewable depending on performance and the availability of funds.

The Manager, Learning and Development will be required to play a pivotal role in developing training plans, implement, coordinate, and facilitate icddr,b management skill trainings and staff development programs, liaise, coordinate and organize within and outside the organization with the objective to ensure continuous development and capacity building for the staff members as well as achieve organizational excellence within the guidelines of the Human Resources Strategy; and organizational values and guidelines.

The Manager, Learning and Development will be responsible for the following:

  • Contribute in Designing and Implementing the Annual Training Plan: Collect department’s training plan as assigned;  Conduct Training Needs Assessment, prepare reports and take recommendation from PMDS development plan; Analyze the Needs and prepare draft Yearly Training Plan as assigned; Share the plan with supervisor; Prepare training budget considering the number of sessions, number of participants, duration of training, logistics, remuneration of trainer, venue cost and others; Upload the Yearly Training Plan in the website; Implement the Yearly Training Plan as assigned; Schedule and coordinate all classroom training with trainees; Conduct unscheduled training in ad-hock basis on request  in order  to conduct the training in a planned way through the Year;
  • Prepare Training Module: Prepare curricular outline for each training considering Yearly Training Plan and TNA; Prepare Lesson plan, Session Plan/Road map based on the curricular outline; Prepare Training material including PowerPoint presentation  and  information  Education  and  Communication  (IEC)  material; Get approval from senior Management; Modify and finalize the Module; Review and Update the Module after successful completion of piloting in order  to conduct each training in an organized way to get maximum output;
  • Facilitate and Conduct Trainings: Go through the module, plan, preparation, and presentation; Deliver the lecture; Collect opinions from participants and facilitators for future improvement; Assess trainees’ reactions through analysis of the feedback & observation and adjust accordingly in order  to get the proper feedback and rectify accordingly;
  • Monitoring  and   Evaluation   of  Trainings: Contributes in developing  and  implementing  processes  to  evaluate  the effectiveness of training and development interventions; Monitors and evaluates training outcomes; Compiles the evaluations; Assess the participants’ performance; Prepares monthly training report; Provides input on preparing the annual training report & higher study report; Communicate data and reports on training to the interested groups; Mentorship of the report in order  to take development plan for future;
  • Liaise, Coordinate,   Organize   Different  Local and  Overseas   Training/Study:  Attract the potential trainees; Communicate and follow up with them; Work closely with PI and supervisors to motivate them to send their employees to the training; confirm the participants about the training in detail; Coordinate and communicate with the external training provider, institutions, official of GoB/NGOs; Oversee the transport, external venue for outside training; Negotiate rate with the external training provider in order  to ensure participation of all trainees as well as the trainers.

Requirements:

Education and Relevant Experience:

  • Masters in Business Administration, preferably in Human Resources or in a relevant field from a reputed University.
  • 5 Years of experience as a Trainer in international I multinational organizations, large NGOs, or development organizations with facilitation and training skills.
  • Candidates who received a long ToT (at least 1-2 weeks) will be given preference.
