The Woodland Trust is looking for an Outreach Adviser in our North region within the Northern
Forest Treescape. A large part of the role will be developing and delivering Grow Back Greener
woodland creation grant scheme applications with landowners outside the Trust’s own estate.
THE ROLE
- Interacting directly with landowners to complete site visits, consultations, regulatory
processes, recommendations, appropriate designs and reports to deadlines. Ranging from small
scale planting schemes to large, complex, landscape scale woodland creation projects and having
the satisfaction of seeing schemes through to delivery on the ground. - This role is mainly based in North and West Yorkshire in Northern England and will require
the successful candidate to travel around the region. - This role is a full time, fixed term contract until December 2026, with potential for
extension - A company car will be provided for this role.
THE CANDIDATE
- You have an enthusiasm for the environment and share our core values-Grow Together,
Explore, Focus and Make it Count. - Proven ability to successfully manage and deliver landscape-scale projects, including
ensuring targets are met on time and within budget. - Experience of overseeing a complex and diverse programme of activity and working as part of
a team to ensure it is delivered effectively. - Experience of working in the land management sector, preferably in woodland conservation,
and a working knowledge of land management funding streams including grants. - You’ll have extensive experience in delivering woodland creation both practically on the
ground, and through advising others. You’ll also have experience working on landscape scale
projects ideally where this engages with individual farmers and landowner, organisations,
businesses or councils. - You’ll have a collaborative approach, with the ability to work with multiple teams,
building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders effectively. - Experience of partnership working, and excellent skills in networking and relationship
development and management. - Track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with landowners, partner
organisations, contractors and local communities. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbally being able to liaise with internal
and external stakeholders. - A full UK driving licence will be required.
