Job title: Project Manager (Maternity Cover)
Location: Cheshire (Home-based with travel)
Salary £23,500 – £25,000 per annum (dependent on skills and experience)
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility required (some evening
& weekend work)
Contract: Temporary, 12 months

Are you passionate about rivers, nature-based solutions, and community
engagement?

Mersey Rivers Trust is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join our Cheshire
team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

You’ll lead and support a variety of environmental projects including river restoration,
invasive species control, wetland creation, and Natural Flood Management schemes. You’ll also
work closely with farmers, landowners, volunteers, and schools to deliver meaningful change
across the Mersey Catchment.

About You

  • Has experience in environmental project delivery, ideally in river or catchment management.
  • Is confident engaging with stakeholders, communities, and volunteers.
  • Can manage contractors, monitor project progress, and contribute to reporting and funding
    bids.
  • Is self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently from home.
  • Holds a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across the catchment.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with GIS, PowerPoint, and social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of farming practices and experience working with contractors and volunteers.
