Sheffield City Council
Exciting opportunity – Sustainability Programme Officer – fixed-term post until end
March 2027
Do you have considerable experience in the governance and delivery of climate change programmes
and carbon reduction interventions and are you looking for your next career development
opportunity?
Sheffield has a bold vision to become a net zero-carbon city, working with our partners,
residents, businesses and city institutions to help make this a reality. Due a funding award,
an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sustainability and Climate Change Team to
support the development and delivery of heat network opportunities and assist in preparing the
Council for forthcoming Heat Network Zoning regulations.
We’re keen to hear from candidates who have good commercial awareness and a high-level
knowledge of the legal, policy, regulatory and financial frameworks that support energy
infrastructure projects.
With the ability to build effective partnerships to ensure the co-creation of plans and
programme delivery, you’ll be able to manage multiple projects with complex requirements and
have experience of procuring technical and strategic services and managing contracts.
If you join our dedicated friendly team, you will enjoy a supportive and flexible work
environment in Sheffield’s award-winning outdoor city.
